Salary Range: $45 – $60 per hour

Purpose of the Position: The Boilermaker plays a crucial role in the daily operations, ensuring all manufacturing and maintenance requirements are met with the highest quality workmanship. This position supports the Leading Hand and Manufacturing Manager in various tasks, contributing significantly to the operational efficiency and excellence of the company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication and Assembly:
    • Cast, bend, weld, and assemble parts to build iron and steel structures and boilers.
    • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
    • Use hand tools, flame cutting torches, saws, presses, and rolls to cut, shape, and prepare steel parts.
    • Assemble and install boilers, ensuring all welds are completed to specified standards.
  • Maintenance and Testing:
    • Operate machinery and tools to cut and shape metal parts.
    • Perform tests on finished boilers and conduct regular maintenance.
    • Complete checklists and boiler logs, ensuring all work complies with quality assurance protocols and safety standards.
  • Safety and Quality:
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with good housekeeping standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Certificate III or IV in Engineering (Fabrication Trade).
  • 3 – 4 years of apprenticeship experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to operate machinery and power tools.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of general safety induction training with a registered training organization (White Card, High-Risk Work Licence, General Driver’s Licence).
  • Forklift ticket and Doggers License.
